Dr. Ibrahim A. Mustafa; Permanent Secretary LSPHCB

As part of the recruitment exercise recently concluded by the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB), an orientation program was organized for the 925 Health Workers that were recruited. This was to familiarize them with the work ethics and procedures obtainable at the Primary Health Care Centers across Lagos State. The orientation programs cut across various departments; Medical Services & Disease Control, Nursing Services, Health Information Management, Pharmaceutical Services, Medical Laboratory Services, Environmental Health Services, Community Health Services and Health Education & Promotion Services.

The Permanent Secretary Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB), Dr. Ibrahim A. Mustafa, admonished the newly recruited health workers to be good ambassadors of Lagos State Government by carrying out their various assignments and duties diligently, to add to the value chain of health care provisions to the grass roots in all the 57 LGAs/ LCDAs in Lagos State.

He added that, it is the level of dedication and proficiency to duty by the health workers at the various facilities of the Primary Health Care Board (PHCB) in the State that will determine the type of perception the good people of Lagos State will have towards Lagos State Primary Health Care facilities in the state. He appealed to the newly recruited staff to be friendly with the patients that attend the facilities, because it is their work attitude that will encourage the masses at the grassroots to patronize LSPHCB facilities for medical attention.

The Permanent Secretary further appealed to the newly recruited health workers to be up and doing and be empathetic to the patients whenever they come to the PHCB facilities for medical attention.

Dr. Mustafa further stated that, the newly recruited health workers should endeavor to take advantage of the facilities at the Lagos State Primary Health Care Centers to improve themselves professionally, and if they notice any short coming, they should report to the senior officers or the head of their various departments or office of the Permanent Secretary for immediate resolution.

He advised staff to protect the image of the Primary Health Care Board (PHCB) and Lagos State Government in general.

He commended and appreciated the Lagos State Government, particularly Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for approving the recruitment of the 925 Health Workers for Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (PHCB), in order to fill the Human Resource for Health (HRH) gap in the Agency, since last recruitment in Y2018.

Dr. Mustafa assured the newly recruited health workers that, the State Government will always be concerned about their welfare while they should reciprocate the gesture of the State Government through dedication to their duties in all the PHCB facilities across the State.
