Inauguration of Lagos State Primary Healthcare Clinical Training & Mentoring Committee
The Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB) in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) through the National Emergency Maternal and Child Intervention Centre (NEMCHIC), has today, the 12th, July 2023, inaugurated a Committee for the Clinical Training and Mentoring of PHC Healthcare workers. It also concluded a 2-Day
State Training of Trainers (SToT) on Human Centred Design (HCD) for improved health outcomes and Quality of Care (QoC) at Primary Healthcare facilities.
Lagos is among the Ten priority States, along with Bauchi, Borno, Yobe, Gombe, Niger, Nassarawa, Kaduna, Kano and Sokoto supported through NPHCDA/NEMCHIC and in collaboration with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), with high impact interventions targeted at Improving the availability and capacity of Human Resources for Health (HRH) at PHC facilities, also Strengthening the Quality of Care for improved Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent and Elderly Health plus Nutrition (RMNCAEH+N) outcomes and finally Provides technical assistance in the development of guidelines, tools and frameworks for standardized monitoring practices by the State Emergency and Child Health Intervention Center (SEMCHIC).
The just concluded HCD training is aimed at strengthening ability of healthcare workers to deliver respectful maternity care using the human-centered design approach to improve behavioural influencers that affects the uptake of PHC services in the State.
