Human papillomavirus vaccines are vaccines that prevent infection by certain types of human papillomavirus. All HPV vaccines protect against at least HPV types 16 and 18, which cause the greatest risk of cervical cancer.

World Health Organization targets 90-70-90’.

The 90-70-90 term is broken into the below terms:

i. .Vaccination: 90% of girls should have been fully vaccinated with the HPV vaccine by the age of 15.

ii. Screening: 70% of women screened using a high-performance test by the age of 35 and again by the age of 45.

iii. Treatment: 90% of women with pre-cancer treated and 90% of women with invasive cancer managed.

The aim is that each country by the Year 2030 should have met the ‘90–70–90’ targets. That is, getting on the path to eliminate cervical cancer within the next century.
