LASG Collaborates with Partners to Strengthen Primary Healthcare System


Through the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB), the Lagos State government hosted a critical stakeholder engagement with its strategic partners on the 7th of February 2024 at the Marriott Hotel Ikeja.
The event themed, “Strengthening the Capacity of the Primary Health Care System Through Efficient Partners’ Support,” aimed to solidify collaboration and enhance healthcare delivery, particularly for residents at the grassroots level.
In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the LSPHCB, Dr. Ibrahim Akinwunmi Mustafa, emphasized the engagement’s focus on ensuring effective partner support and funding coordination. This collaborative approach, encompassing the entire project lifecycle from planning to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, aims to significantly improve the health and well-being of Lagosians, with a specific focus on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health Plus Nutrition (RMNCAH-N), Data Management, Research, Demand Generation and Quality Improvement.
“This engagement serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to fostering a collaborative ecosystem that facilitates a seamless flow of resources, knowledge, and expertise, ultimately bolstering the Primary Health Care system,” Dr. Mustafa stated.
He further highlighted how the program aligns with the current administration’s shared vision of achieving Sustainable Development Goal 17, emphasizing partnerships for the goals.
The engagement witnessed partners reflecting on their key activities and achievements in 2023, challenges encountered, and revised program scopes for 2024. This facilitated open dialogue and ensured alignment with the overarching goals of strengthening the primary healthcare system.
