LASG Affirms Readiness for Mass Vaccination Campaign
The Lagos State Government, through its Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB), has reaffirmed its commitment to a successful supplemental immunization campaign against measles, yellow fever, hepatitis B (HB), and oral polio.
Speaking at a roundtable meeting with delegates from the US Center for Disease Control, the Supervising Permanent Secretary of the LSPHCB, Dr. Abimbola Bowale, emphasized the state’s preparedness to roll out the vaccination drive despite existing challenges.
Dr. Temitope Balogun, Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics at the LSPHCB, assured stakeholders that comprehensive logistics are being implemented to ensure a smooth and efficient campaign across the state.
Dr. Adetola Akinpelu, the Immunization Program Officer, highlighted the allocation of necessary resources to support the vaccination efforts.
In response, Dr. Forbi Joseph of the US-CDC expressed satisfaction with Lagos State’s proactive approach and readiness for the campaign. He pledged to provide the necessary technical support to ensure its success.
The supplemental immunization campaign is a crucial step in protecting the health of Lagos residents and preventing the spread of these preventable diseases.
