Bolaji Olayinka Pearse is a State Counsel with 19 plus years of experience in Legal practice. She attended the prestigious University of Lagos, Akoka where she bagged her LLB & LLM degrees in 2002 & 2017 respectively; she attended Nigerian Law School, Bwari Abuja where she obtained her BL; and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004.
Bolaji is An Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), Associate of The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC).
She started her legal career as a youth corps member with the renowned law firm of Chief Richard Akinjide & Co on Broad Street, Lagos. After her service year, she worked with Elinks Ltd until she joined the Ministry of Justice as a project officer from October 2008 – August 2013 when she was absorbed into the mainstream as a State Counsel.
As a project officer and State Counsel with the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, she issued Legal Advice and prosecuted matters at the Magistrate and State High Courts where she has various judgments to her credit.
She also served at the Office of Administrator General & Public Trustee where she administered intestate and Trust estates, mediated disputes pertaining to inheritance and prepared enforceable settlement agreements, assisted in obtaining Letters of Administration and Reseal same where there are properties in other jurisdictions, inspect estate properties administered by the Office, prosecutes intermeddlers, initiates the process of evicting defaulting tenants and removal of unlawful occupants of estates administered by the Office, payment of Death / Insurance Benefit to beneficiaries of deceased Civil Servants amongst others.
In September 2016 she was designated to act as Personal Assistant to the then Solicitor General of Lagos State & Permanent Secretary (SG/PS) Ministry of Justice, a position she occupied until the Statutory Retirement of the SG/PS in September 2019. As the PA to the SG/PS she was privileged to handle and was involved in a wide range of legal matters up to the Supreme Court.
In September 2019 she was posted to the Directorate of Commercial Law where she was involved in drafting commercial agreements on behalf of the Lagos State Government notable amongst which is the Lagos State University (LASU) Hostels Development Lease Agreement.
In June 2020, she was posted to Lagos State Sports Commission as a Legal Officer and she also acted as the Secretary to the Board until October 2021.
She is currently the Legal Officer at the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board.
Mrs. Bolaji Pearse is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Her hobbies include reading and watching movies.
She is married and blessed with children.
