Medical Records
Timely, accurate, consistent and reliable Health information is crucial for Policymaking, Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of all Health Programs. Medical Records Officers, also known as Health Information Managers, are responsible for Initiation, generation, storage, retrieval, dissemination and retention of Health care activities.
The Medical Records Unit of Lagos State Primary Health Care Board is charged with the statutory duty of Coordination and Supervision of all Medical Records Professionals at the various Unified Local Government and Local Council Development Areas. The vision of the Department of Health Information Management (Medical Records) is to be recognised as a quality producer of health information equipped with the attitudes and principles that encourage lifelong confidentiality and ethical behaviour in a rapidly evolving Health care setting.
